Getting to Know - Your Massage Therapist
A little about myself...
I first became interested in the massage therapy field after suffering since my teenage years with many debilitating health disorders. For years I never got any answers or help from the medical world, other than, “it’s all in your head.” Which it truly wasn’t. It took Alternative Care Practitioner's to finally listen and bring me back to a more normal state of health and well-being. I continue to battle some health problems, but not like those of the past until I sought the help of the Alternative Care Field. I knew then, that my true calling was to be a healer and to use my own struggles and knowledge to help those who have and are suffering the same debilitating disorders as myself. And let them know there is hope and help out there for them too.
I had a long journey leading up to my obtaining my Professional Medical Massage Diploma, this very long and grueling journey prepared me for the therapist and healer that I was to become and now I am. I am continually evolving and sharing my new gifts and skills with all those who I am honored to work on. I feel those who are to share along with me and my gifts are sent to me for a reason. Whether due to circumstances or luck. I help guide them down their own path on their journey and give them stepping stones to work with along the way. I am quite intuitive and use these gifts with all of those that I come into contact with daily. They help me to use my physical talents to better some one's life and my own along the way.
I feel using the lighter and softer approach to the body allows the body to let go with ease. Each person's entire body(cells, tissues, molecules) are already under so much stress, so why add more stress and expect a release? Many times there are energy blocks that need to be removed and once removed, the tissues relax on their own.
I share my spiritual journey and talents with each and every person who comes for massage by using the gifts that I obtained to better their lives. I offer therapeutic massage, energy work and body movement therapies for the person and/or spirits highest good. I focus on stress relief and pain reduction.
I work with clients suffering with fibromyalgia, pain disorders, acute & chronic injuries and many other conditions. You don’t have to be sick or have an illness to be in pain, but many Americans suffer chronic pain everyday and I offer therapeutic massage targeting their specific aches and pains.
I received my 610 Hour Professional Medical Massage Diploma from the VA School of Massage in 2000. Since then I have received my First Degree of Reiki. I have received training in Bowen Therapy, Healing Presence, and Aviana (Mindful) Touch Therapy, and continuing to learn new techniques through my required 50 hours of continuing education in my field.
I am licensed in the State of Tennessee by the Tennessee Massage Licensure Board (LMT), Certified in the State of Virginia by the VA Board of Nursing (CMT), National Certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and I am a Professional Member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). Just recently I was appointed as a biographical candidate to represent Bristol, VA in the Empires Who's Who Among Executives and Professionals for inclusion in the upcoming 2006/2007 'Honors Edition' of there registry. I am a new member of Empire Who's Who Among Executives and Professionals.
“I believe that one won’t experience the true, ‘whole body’ effects of a massage if they don’t let their body benefit from their session.”
